In a showcase of talent and innovation, students from the Cotabato State University (CotSU) Engineering Department took center stage at the National Civil Engineering Summit held from September 27 to 30, 2023.

The summit kicked off on September 27 with an opening ceremony that marked the beginning of four days of learning, collaboration, and competition. The university's delegation, composed of dedicated coaches, Engr. Alma Sendad and Michelle Tirol-Maguid, MSCE, along with participants Muhidin D. Kadilon, Datu Ali M. Saykona, Jelai N. Aliman, Evalyn Mae T. Garcia, and Afnan A. Mohammadnor, were ready to showcase their talents and commitment throughout the event.

On September 28, a Civil Engineering Exhibit was hosted at the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education, where they presented innovative projects and research, unveiling their creativity. September 29 was a day of intellectual exchange at the UP Diliman Theater, where CotSU students engaged in a symposium, gaining insights from experts and sharing their own perspectives on current engineering challenges. Concurrently, a job fair offered them the opportunity to connect with leading companies and explore potential career paths.

The summit concluded on September 30 with a thrilling Quiz Bowl competition at the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development, UP Diliman. The participants displayed their knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork, further cementing their reputation as rising stars in the field of civil engineering.

As a token of their participation, they were allowed to take a laboratory tour at the UP Institute of Civil Engineering Compound. This served as a hands-on experience to witness cutting-edge research and practical applications in civil engineering.

The prestigious event, organized by UP ACES, enables aspiring civil engineers from across the nation to exhibit their skills, learn from experts, and explore exciting opportunities in the field.
