The Cotabato State University captured the bronze medal in track and field competition in the 4x100-meter dash category during the MASTS (Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools Inc.) on Sept. 14, held at Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST) Field, Arakan, North Cotabato.
The delegates were Aliodin E. Eman, Al-Saud Mustapha, Salih Sultan, and Abdulhamid Naron. According to the team captain, Aliodin E. Eman, they trained for almost three months for the MASTS competition, even sacrificing their vacations to secure medals.
He also added, "We are so happy that, finally, nakasungkit din kami ng medal sa MASTS kasi to be honest, sobrang hirap makuha ang first, second, and third, pero alam namin na nag-training kami, nag-prepare, at lumaban ng sobra. Now that nakuha na namin yung goal namin, sobrang happy and proud kami sa sarili namin, sa improvements namin."
With over 33 tertiary schools, only six universities reached the final round, namely: Zambuanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), Northern Mindanao State University (NemSU), Bukidnon State University (BukSU), Caraga State University (CSU), Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU), and Cotabato State University (CotSU).
